Made by a survivor, for survivors
Steady Ground Studio creates trauma-informed workbooks and guides for adults finding their way after abuse.
Why Steady Ground exists
I’m Casey Burkhart, and I created Steady Ground Studio from my own lived experience of abuse. I wanted resources that explain what’s happening in plain language, respect your pace, and never ask you to prove anything.
Finding Steady Ground is the result. It draws on trauma research and widely used clinical frameworks, written so you can use it on a good day or a hard one.
What we believe
You set the pace
Skipping, pausing, and stopping are always allowed. Healing isn’t a test, and there’s no correct timeline.
Nothing to prove
You never have to disclose details, forgive, report, or confront anyone to benefit from our resources.
Honest about limits
Our resources are educational, not therapy. We point you toward live support whenever it may help more than a workbook can.
Abuse affects people of every gender, sexuality, race, age, faith, disability status, and background. Our examples are written to include you, wherever you’re starting from.
What you can expect from us
- Plain-language explanations, without jargon or blame
- Eyes-open, no-touch options for every grounding exercise
- Safety and privacy notes wherever a practice could involve another person or a device
- Crisis contacts that are checked and updated on a set schedule
- No pressure, no countdown timers, and no shame
Steady Ground Studio is based in Kentucky and created by someone with lived experience, not a licensed clinician. Our resources have not been clinically evaluated and are not a substitute for professional care.
